It poured overnight but the rain abated long enough for us to set up and break down the tent. Nothing much today -- on 80/90 through western Ohio, Indiana (our first time zone change!), and into Illinois (we'll post this from Chicago).
Lauren biting a giant apple at a cute roadside stand. Which sold California-grown fruit. (The locally-grown strawberries were pretty good, though.)
Indiana!
Lauren loved these irrigators. I took this picture just after she got yelled at for climbing on one and steering it around the circle.
We pulled off 80 onto a genuine dirt road.
I'm wearing a San Francisco t-shirt. Yee-haw!
By the way, this is how stuffed the car is.
(Oh and Lauren didn't really climb on anything, Katie.)

Mom: Smoking weeds are bad for your health. she also says to call your mother...often.
Carly: um...ok mom, anyway, it sounds like fun, and i expect much squealing when you see prairie dogs. (aren't they cute?) love the huge apple too.
Love the blog, but the personal call this morning was GREAT!
I like that the East Harbor State Park has on its homepage a picture of a beach that wouldn't be out of place in a Caribbean island brochure.
Congrats on the progress! It sounds like a bunch o' fun.
Oh also, Anjee is from Indiana.
